Most wonderful time of the year? Maybe

I’m torn when it comes to deciding the best time of the year in sports, but we’re entering one of my top three today with the beginning of college basketball conference tournaments that set up March Madness.

There is nothing like having meaningful basketball games to watch every day for two solid weeks just to get to the NCAA Tournament and all the drama it usually brings. Combine all that with spring training in baseball and it’s hard to top.

My other favorite times of the year in sports are September because college and NFL football returns at the same time the pennant races in baseball are heating up. Not that my Chicago Cubs are involved in the pennant chase very often. A guy can dream.

My third favorite time of year in sports is December, mostly because of college football’s conference championship games and bowl season, but also because of the NFL and the beginning of another college basketball season.

So I thought I would share my picks for the winners in the conference tournaments that begin this week around the country. Here they are.

Ohio Valley — Murray State
Big South — UNC-Ashville
Atlantic Sun — Belmont
Missouri Valley — Wichita State
Southern — Davidson
Colonial Athletic — Old Dominion
MAAC — Iona
West Coast — BYU
Sun Belt — Denver
Summit — Oral Roberts
Horizon — Valparaiso
Northeast — Wagner
Patriot — Bucknell
Big Sky — Weber State
American East — Vermont

I was basically curious about if you ever thought of modifying the layout of your blog? It is very well written; I really like what youve got to say. But maybe you can create a a bit more in the way of written content so people could connect with it better. You have got a great deal of text for only having one or two photos. Maybe you can space it out better?

  2. How come you dont have your site viewable in wap format? cant view anything in my iPhone.
