Colorado coach Jon Embree will likely add six to 12 invited walk-ons to the roster in the fall and we’re beginning to hear some names.
Don’t overlook these guys. Remember there have been some solid contributions to the program made by walk-ons and former walk-ons in the past. The most prominent name on that list has to be former three-year starter at quarterback Joel Klatt.
Other notable walk-ons include current Buffs such as Arthur Jaffee and Travis Sandersfeld. Remember Tom Hubbard winning the MVP award in the 2004 Houston Bowl? How about former wide receiver Evan Judge.
Heck, Scotty McKnight originally came to CU as an invited walk-on and left as the school’s all-time leading receiver.
I’ve heard defensive back Brandan Brisco, a product of Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, Calif., has been invited to walk-on. Just like in recruiting, CU coaches and staffers can’t comment on perspective walk-ons until the necessary paperwork is complete. So we might not know who is definitely here and who is not until fall camp begins.
Here is a story about a possible kicker/punter addition from Northern Iowa.
