Dan Hawkins to Texas State?

I have received two emails in the past couple days from writers in Texas who say they are hearing former CU coach Dan Hawkins is in the mix for the head coaching job at Texas State.

That program is in the midst of a transition from the Football Championship Subdivision to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2012. Funny thing is it would play in the Western Athletic Conference in 2012, if that conference still exists by then.

As you know, Hawkins spent almost a decade in the WAC as an assistant coach and head coach at Boise State before coming to Colorado in 2006.

I don’t know if the rumors are true, but it seems like a good place for Hawkins to try to get his mojo back. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he became a successful head coach again at some point, especially in a talent-rich state like Texas at a school at that level.

If Hawkins does end up there, it would be interesting to see how many of his former assistants follow him and if his son, Cody, ends up being his quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator at some point.

I wonder if Barnett is "in the mix" as well

That would be great. Wish the guy well, and Cody. I hope he gets it. He needs to be a head coach somewhere at a lower tier school for a bit.

Cut the crap, the WAC is right where this clown of a coach belongs.
And take that clown of a son Cody with him.
Again, Good Bye, Good Luck and GOOD RIDDANCE

Good luck to the guy. Hes a good guy. and his son is a stand up guy with more class than conyeste. He just wasn't meant to coach here at this level

He's a petty, mean-spirited man. He will rot any program that he's hired into. His son would make a good politician.

Actually I don't think he has enough meanness in him to coach, that ONE of his problems. His kid is a good person who loved Colorado and played as hard as he could

  7. Unquestionably consider that that you stated. Your favourite justification appeared to be on the web the easiest factor to take into account of. I say to you, I definitely get irked whilst other people consider concerns that they just do not recognize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and defined out the entire thing without having side-effects , folks can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thank you
