Geer goes out in style

I voted one Buff as a first team member of my All-Big 12 team this season. Tight end Riar Geer clearly deserved the honor in my book based solely on the statistics.

Geer finished with 36 catches for 402 yards and four touchdowns. He had nearly 100 more receiving yards than any other tight end in the Big 12. He was one of two tight ends in the conference with more than 30 catches. Texas A&M’s Jamie McCoy had 31 and was my second-team tight end

It has been a pleasure covering a lot of the seniors on this season’s Colorado football team over the past five years. All of them have been standup guys win or lose, which is something you grow to appreciate in my business.
