Polk is very young and raw at the safety position — and he's gotten beat on pass plays a bunch this year, but I'm glad he's in there. I don't know that Anthony Perkins is going to get that much better. He takes bad angles on tackles and gets outflanked a lot on plays. And Mahnke has the speed of a WoManhke — what is he even doing on the team? Someone needs to take away that cat's scholarship. I think John Nairn (Buff Safety from the early 80s) had more speed than Mahnke. Polk has potential…I think if Ryan Walters would have started as a true frosh he would have looked a lot like Polk. (BTW, for those of you who don't know, on film Polk in high school was JUST AS impressive as Darrell Scott.
